Rated

5 stars on Google

Customers have given us five stars on Google. You can read what they said on our listing.

Distance

Villages aren’t an afterthought

Travel is built into the price from the start, so a farmhouse gets the same response as a house in town.

Price

Agreed before we begin

You get a clear figure first. If something hidden turns up, we stop and talk it through.

Heritage

Careful with older homes

Stone walls, beams and original features are worked around, not hacked through.

Priority

Breakdowns come first

A house without power or heating gets seen ahead of planned work.

Clarity

Paperwork that makes sense

Certificates and test results are walked through with you, not left in an envelope.

Electrician near me in Northallerton

Rural and farm electrics

Out in the villages, supplies are often overhead and earthed to a rod rather than the incoming cable. That affects protection, testing and what a new circuit or charger needs, so we check it properly first.

  • Ingleby Arncliffe
  • Swainby
  • Appleton Wiske

Electric heating and EV charging

Homes off the gas grid lean hard on their electrics. Heat pumps, storage heaters and EV chargers all add big loads, so we check the supply and board before adding anything.

No. 06FAQs

Good to know

Can someone come out today in Northallerton?

If you’ve lost power, something smells hot or a breaker won’t reset, phone us. Faults like that go ahead of booked work, and we’ll give you an honest arrival time even if you’re out in one of the villages.

Do you cover the villages as well as town?

Yes. Romanby and Brompton, out to Leeming Bar, Thirsk, Osmotherley and the villages between. Rural jobs are priced with the travel built in, so there’s no surprise when you mention a farm track.

My house is old or listed. Can you still rewire it?

Yes, with care. We plan cable routes to avoid cutting into original features where possible, and talk through anything that might need the conservation officer’s say-so before work starts.

We’re off the gas grid. Can you help with electric heating?

Storage heaters, immersion heaters, electric showers and the dedicated supply a heat pump needs. We check the board and incoming supply first, so a new heating load doesn’t overload the house.

Can you run power to a barn, stable or workshop?

Yes. Outbuildings usually need an armoured cable run, a small board of their own and suitable protection at both ends. We size the cable for the distance so lights and tools don’t struggle.

What is an EICR and do I need one?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report is a full safety test of the wiring. Private landlords in England need one at least every five years. It’s also worth having when you buy an older home.

My RCD keeps tripping. What should I do?

Switch off and unplug everything, then reset it. If it stays on, plug things back in one at a time to find the culprit. If it trips with nothing plugged in, there’s a wiring fault and we’ll trace it.

Can I have an EV charger fitted at home?

If you have off-street parking, usually yes. Longer drives and detached garages can need a heavier cable, so we look at the route and your supply before giving you a price.

How do you price a job?

We find out what’s needed and give you a clear price before anything starts. If something hidden changes the job, we stop and talk to you first.
